I used the acrylic pouring technique for the background. I came very close to leaving it without adding the sea turtle because I liked it so much. I decided I can have it both ways. I had Charlie (my husband / photographer) photograph it before I added the turtle then again after. I have both images on here on my website. You can find both of them in my Acrylic Pour gallery. The one without the turtle is called "Breaking Waves".
Darice Machel McGuire lived on the beautiful Island of Maui from 2012 until the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023, destroyed her art studio. She and her husband have relocated to Grass Valley, California. They purchased a commercial building to reestablish their art studios.
