Description
“Lahaina Seawall," this early afternoon scene comes to life with a bustling atmosphere. The Lahaina Seawall stretches along the coast, flanked by the iconic "Cheese Berger In Paradise" and the charming Front Street shops. My intent was to capture the essence of community, leisure, and the vibrant energy of Lahaina Town. This is how I will aways remember Lahaina.
Front Street was my favorite place to take a stroll. It's littered with art galleries, shops and restaurants. On Friday nights the town will be buzzing with people. All the galleries will have their doors open and offer you wine or champagne as you peruse the art.
My oil painting shows the view of Front Street from the deck of Ono Gelato (a business that is now closed.) The green building is Cheeseburger In Paradise. People are enjoying the beach at low tide. The woman taking a photo is cooling her feet in the ocean. The couple behind her are young lovers, deep in conversation. A mom carrying her shopping bag is talking with her son and the guy by the seawall is picking up sea glass.
This painting along with my entire inventory and art studio burned down in the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023.
