Artist's Description
Surf's up! Who wants to hit the waves. Come on in the water is fine!
Tube riding is a term used by surfers to describe riding well inside the curve or barrel of a finely-shaped breaking wave such as my painting you see here. Tube riding is an advanced skill and some surfers spend years surfing without ever really getting "tubed".
I'm no surfer and I have no intention of learning how, especially now at my age. Surfing to me has the same issues as skiing, falling. I'm not a big fan of falling, never have been, never will be. Painting waves is much more to my liking.
NOTE; This painting, along with my entire inventory and art studio, was destroyed in the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023.

Three of the five galleries that represented her work were destroyed by the Lahaina fire. The two remaining galleries are Karen Lei's Gallery in Kahakuloa and Karen Lei's...
