Artist's Description
George the gecko is a cute Gold dust Day gecko, who hangs out in my condo. He likes to scurry across the walls, inside and out. The Hawaiian name for these little guys is "Mo'o". I gave my little buddy the name George because it just seemed to fit. The thing I like most about these little creatures, besides their beautiful color, is they eat bugs, including mosquitoes. The worse part is they poop everywhere.
When the "stay at home" order was put in place, I made a temporary art studio on my lanai (deck). I have two geckos that keep me company. One of them is a tiny baby who is very curious and ventures quite close to my feet.
My painting is in honor of my tiny friends. I added tissue paper to the canvas give it the cool texture you see here.

Three of the five galleries that represented her work were destroyed by the Lahaina fire. The two remaining galleries are Karen Lei's Gallery in Kahakuloa and Karen Lei's...
