Big Tex stands 52 feet tall above the Fair Grounds of the State Fair of Texas in Dallas. Originally built in 1952, this giant cowboy with his 75 gallon hat and size 70 boots burned in 1972 due to an electrical fire, but a new, updated Big Tex replaced him in time for the 2013 Fair.
