There isn't a lot of better things then living on Maui, except painting paintings of Maui. The inspiration of daily life on this beautiful tropical island has awaken the need in me to paint everything I see. I just wish I had more time to do just that.
The scene here is of our beautiful West Maui Mountains, the abandoned sugar cane fields and cottages on the beach. Some of the cottages represent the old cane houses that are disappearing. These canoes were and still are, an important part of the Hawaiian lifestyle. All together, these elements represent the "West Maui Living" as I've come to know it.
NOTE; This painting, along with my entire inventory and art studio, was destroyed in the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023.
