Venice is such a beautiful city. It captures the romance of the old world. When life was at a slower pace. The city built over the waters of the Adriatic Sea is almost dreamlike, with its elaborate architecture, art-filled palaces, a palpable history stretching back more than 1,000 years and, of course, its network of ridiculously picturesque canals that take the place of streets. Venice is composed of more than 100 islands in the Venetian Lagoon, protected from the open sea by the barrier island of Lido and the Cavallino peninsula. The visitor arriving in Venice is still transported into another world, one whose atmosphere and beauty remain incomparable.
