Artist's Description
"Take Home Maui" was a landmark in Lahaina Maui. The building was located on Dickinson street, it housed a deli and farmers market. Visitors could mail home pineapples and other tropical fruit from this store. They had a very large bird cage on the porch with a very verbal parrot named Kehau, who enjoyed whistling at everyone who walked by. "Take Home Maui" started out as a road side fruit stand in Lahaina Maui in 1978.

This iconic building burned down along with most of Lahaina town on August 8th. This painting now represents what Lahaina use to look like and is part of her history.
