Tahoe Rocks is a three dimensional painting. I created it by using a mixture of sand from one of the beaches on the north shore of Lake Tahoe and gesso. I applied this mix onto the blank canvas to build up the rock area, next came an under painting with acrylic. Then I finished it with oil.
Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I had the pleasure of living on the North Shore for 35 years. My large collection of photographs taken through the years will keep me well supplied with painting subjects for many years to come.
The original painting is in a private collection in Northern California.
