A quaint cottage is nestled among lush gardens filled with vibrant spring flowers, under a canopy of greenery. A winding path leads to the inviting home, flanked by blossoms in shades of pink, blue, and yellow.
This painting was started by my mom, Lola Owen. I finished it after she passed away.
My parents owned Lakeside Gallery in Kings Beach, Lake Tahoe for nearly 40 years. The gallery was closed in 2008 and all of mom's paintings and quite a few other artists works were stored in their garage. After my parents passed away my sister bought their house and asked me to take all the art works. Mom had about 70 paintings she never finished. I'm finishing them for her and signing both our names.
Darice Machel McGuire lived on the beautiful Island of Maui from 2012 until the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023, destroyed her art studio. She and her husband have relocated to Grass Valley, California. They purchased a commercial building to reestablish their art studios. McGuire's Hawaii and California landscape oil and acrylic paintings are gracing the homes and offices of collectors nationally and internationally. McGuire's choice of subject matter comes from her love of nature and all that surrounds her on a daily basis. She paints in large and small formats.
