The smokestack in Lahaina Maui is iconic to the bygone days of the sugar and pineapple plantation days. It's all that is left of the Pioneer mill. The stack towers high above the rooftops of the buildings along Front Street. The green building is the famous Cheese Burger in Paradise restaurant. The blue gray building next to it is Ono Gelato, my favorite Gelato on the island. The West Maui Mountains are draped in clouds, which cast shadows across the valleys and ridges, The plantation fields are still visible but are no longer growing sugar cane or pineapples. To the lower right of the painting you see the tiny beach at the seawall. This is a great place to watch the sunset.
