Description
The sea wall in Lahaina Maui, right across the street from Hard Rock Cafe on Front Street, is a great spot to sit and watch the sunset. Isn't it amazing how those palm trees grow right out of the wall? A couple of them have died and only their trunks remain ( those are not shown in my painting ). I wanted to capture these trees before anymore died.
This oil painting is part of my new sunset series. I'm having fun using these bright vivid colors. Breaking away from my usual color palette has excited my creative juices and I'm ready to paint more!
NOTE; This painting, along with my entire inventory and art studio, was destroyed in the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023.
