Maui Honu is a painting I created after playing around with a photo app on my iPhone. I had taken a simple photo of a sea turtle swimming underwater and transformed it into a digital creation. I liked the digital image so much I decided recreate it as an acrylic painting.
This painting, "Maui Honu", came out better then I hoped for. I am very pleased with the texture in the background and the colors I chose. The designs in the corners are not representational of anything Hawaiian. The next time I create a painting like this I'll research Hawaiian symbols to use for it.
NOTE; This painting, along with my entire inventory and art studio, was destroyed in the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023.
