Summer of 2020 is proving to be quite peaceful, clam and relaxing. With no visitors on the island, most the beaches are empty....or mostly empty. Taking a moment to breath and meditate while watching the rhythm of the waves allows me to rejuvenate.
Painting this tranquil scene helped me focus my thoughts on positive ways to be in this new craze world of ours, and shutting out all the negative noise of the news and social media. I'm so grateful I live on Maui. Being surrounded by so much beauty every day is the most inspiring thing in my life.

Darice Machel McGuire lived on the beautiful Island of Maui from 2012 until the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023, destroyed her art studio. She and her husband have relocated to Grass Valley, California. They purchased a commercial building to reestablish their art studios. McGuire's Hawaii and California landscape oil and acrylic paintings are gracing the homes and offices of collectors nationally and internationally. McGuire's choice of subject matter comes from her love of nature and all that surrounds her on a daily basis. She paints in large and small formats.
