"Keanae Peninsula" is part of my "Dancing With Waves series. This sweet little palette knife painting is only 6x8 inches. It's tiny but mighty. The powerful motion of the wave crashing on the lava rocks is very dramatic. I love the power of the ocean!
This traditional Hawaiian village, Keanae is known for its taro fields. This area attracts fisherman and photographers from all over the world looking to catch Maui's famous North Shore waves against the beautiful Keanae peninsula. There is no swimming here due to the dangerous and rocky shoreline.
NOTE; This painting, along with my entire inventory and art studio, was destroyed in the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023.
