Coming up with ideas to use for my acrylic pouring paintings is sometimes inspired by other artists I see on Facebook and Instagram. The boxed area or frame is from one of those inspirations. The Honu was inspired by a visit to the Maui Ocean Center aquaria. The colors and shapes created by the acrylic pour were perfect for this design.

Darice Machel McGuire lived on the beautiful Island of Maui from 2012 until the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023, destroyed her art studio. She and her husband have relocated to Grass Valley, California. They purchased a commercial building to reestablish their art studios. McGuire's Hawaii and California landscape oil and acrylic paintings are gracing the homes and offices of collectors nationally and internationally. McGuire's choice of subject matter comes from her love of nature and all that surrounds her on a daily basis. She paints in large and small formats.
