I think Madam Pele, the volcano Goddess, would be impressed with this rendition of her handiwork. At least I hope so.
I was commissioned to create this oil painting. My client was inspired by my "Fire In The Sky" painting and asked if I'd do a painting with lava flowing into the sea. One of his favorite artists was Jules Tavernier who painted many Hawaii volcano oil paintings back in the 1800s. I never heard of Jules until my client introduced me to his work. I'm so glad he did. The man was a true master at his art.

Darice Machel McGuire lived on the beautiful Island of Maui from 2012 until the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023, destroyed her art studio. She and her husband have relocated to Grass Valley, California. They purchased a commercial building to reestablish their art studios. McGuire's Hawaii and California landscape oil and acrylic paintings are gracing the homes and offices of collectors nationally and internationally. McGuire's choice of subject matter comes from her love of nature and all that surrounds her on a daily basis. She paints in large and small formats.
