Artist's Description

Sunsets in Maui are spectacular and Olowalu is a prefect place to watch them. Olowalu is a small community half way between Lahaina and Maalea. There is a long jetty that juts out from the little hidden beach that has proved to be a great viewing spot. From the end of the jetty you can see the neighboring islands Moloka'i, Lana'i and Kaho'olawe. You can also see Haleakala and Olowalu Valley. This dramatic scenic place is my favorite spot on Maui. I get such a peaceful feeling every time I'm there. And I can only imagine what it would of been like to live there before Captain Cook showed up.

NOTE; This painting, along with my entire inventory and art studio, was destroyed in the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023.

About Darice Machel McGuire

Darice Machel McGuire

Darice Machel McGuire lived on the beautiful Island of Maui from 2012 until the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023, destroyed her art studio. McGuire's Hawaii and California landscape oil and acrylic paintings are gracing the homes and offices of collectors nationally and internationally. McGuire's choice of subject matter comes from her love of nature and all that surrounds her on a daily basis. She paints in large and small formats. Three of the five galleries that represented her work were destroyed by the Lahaina fire. The two remaining galleries are Karen Lei's Gallery in Kahakuloa and Karen Lei's...
