My "Diving Humpback" is an acrylic on a round wood panel. I created the abstract background using the acrylic pouring technique. I love using this technique because of the great bubbly water effect I get from it.
The original painting is round and does not come with the white background.
Did you know most humpback whales don’t actually have a hump on their back? The name is derived from the hump that appears when they arch their backs prior diving. A humpback whale head is covered with tubercles (knobs). Each knob contains at least one piece of stiff hair. Humpbacks have two blowholes, one for each lung. The whales need to think about breathing. This is why they sleep with one eye open and only rest half of their brain at a time.
