Artist's Description
I grew up in Northern California, surrounded by the foothills and Sierra Mountains. This peaceful scene can be seen all around the California foothills. Using my memory and imagination and a couple of photos I took of cows, I came up with this version of a peaceful sunny day. I used acrylic paint on a 12 x12 inch canvas. The clouds over the mountains represent an afternoon rain shower taking place far away. The Cows are content to graze and sleep the day away.

About Darice Machel McGuire
Darice Machel McGuire lived on the beautiful Island of Maui from 2012 until the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023, destroyed her art studio. She and her husband have relocated to Grass Valley, California. They purchased a commercial building to reestablish their art studios. McGuire's Hawaii and California landscape oil and acrylic paintings are gracing the homes and offices of collectors nationally and internationally. McGuire's choice of subject matter comes from her love of nature and all that surrounds her on a daily basis. She paints in large and small formats.
