Artist's Description
Maui offers some of the most spectacular sunsets I have ever seen. I feel so fortunate to be able to not only photograph them but also paint them. This colorful oil painting represents the drama the sky offers as the sun sets. The foam on the beach gave me a little trouble. I ended up scraping it out four times before I was finely happy with it. As a last minute thought, I decided to add a resting turtle to add a bit of "life" to the scene.
NOTE; This painting, along with my entire inventory and art studio, was destroyed in the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023.
