Artist's Description
Santa has decided to take some time off. His vacation destination is Hawaii and why not, it's the best place on Earth!
"Beachen Santa" is an 11x14 acrylic painting. It's the first in my series of "Hawaiian Santa" Christmas paintings. This painting had me smiling the whole time I was painting it. As I worked on Santa himself, he became more and more real to me. I imagined my Santa trying to be inconspicuous as he took some time to relax on the beach. Notice how he is slightly hunched over and is hiding behind his dark sunglasses. The black socks with the red flip flops ( slippas as they say here in Hawaii) was another touch I added to bring more fun to the painting. All of my Santa and Christmas paintings I do are done with the idea of making Christmas cards.
