Artist's Description
Awakening is a balance between the purity of the lotus flower and the Yin and Yang symbol. A person’s path in life is said to be similar to that of the Lotus. Starting at the seed stage through to the bud emerging from the dirty water, representing a person following the path of spirituality and leaving attachment behind, and finally blossoming, this is when a person has become fully awakened and has achieved nirvana.
Chinese yin yang symbols represent perfect balance. A great deal of Chinese philosophy stems from the concept of yin and yang - opposites interacting and supposedly the seed of all things.
I painted this painting on a 15 inch round table top.
NOTE; This painting, along with my entire inventory and art studio, was destroyed in the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023.
