My aurora borealis treescape (new word my honey made up) was created by pouring acrylic paint all over the canvas. This technique is called acrylic pouring, I did the flip cup. I love this technique! it's so fun and I never know how the painting is going to turn out until it's completely dry. The movement of the pattern is very interesting, don't you think?
This one had a landscape feel to it so I embellished it by adding the tree line and reflection.

Darice Machel McGuire lived on the beautiful Island of Maui from 2012 until the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023, destroyed her art studio. She and her husband have relocated to Grass Valley, California. They purchased a commercial building to reestablish their art studios.
