Artist's Description
I came across an artist painting with really thick acrylic paint and discovered he makes his own paint and sells it. The artist's name is Justin Gaffrey, you should go check him out.
The painting you see here is my first very thick wave painting created with Justin's paint and a palette knife. It's on a 9x12 wood panel. I'm super excited with how it came out and will definitely be doing more of these.
The big barrel wave is so thick it casts great shadows. The paint dries very shiny which adds to the drama of the painting.
NOTE; This painting, along with my entire inventory and art studio, was destroyed in the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023.
