When ever I need inspiration for a painting I go for a walk. Living on Maui gives me more then enough inspiration to last me the rest of my life. This scene is from the back of the tennis courts in Lahaina, off Front Street. There is a large field that has an un-obstructed view of the West Maui Mountains. I like this spot a lot. The clouds over the mountain creates great shadows and light effects.

Darice Machel McGuire lived on the beautiful Island of Maui from 2012 until the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023, destroyed her art studio. She and her husband have relocated to Grass Valley, California. They purchased a commercial building to reestablish their art studios.
