The original painting is 9x12 and was sold. I created this painting by using a palette knife and lots of layers of paint. There is a funny story about the sale of this painting. The painting was hanging in the Gallery my parents owned in Lake Tahoe. The gallery was just three buildings from the beach. I decided to open for 4TH of July, historically not a good day to be open. I had to keep a close eye on our parking lot because so many beach goers were trying to use it. A convertible pulled up with two couples excitedly jumping out. They saw me watching them through the sliding glass door and decided to come in. We chatted a bit while they had a look around. One of the two men spotted the roster and told his buddy to come check it out. The buddy (the cockier of the two) stared at the painting for a long time then reached up and pulled it off the wall. Darice Machel McGuire lived on the beautiful Island of Maui from 2012 until the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023, destroyed her art studio. She and her husband have relocated to Grass Valley, California. They purchased a commercial building to reestablish their art studios. McGuire's Hawaii and California landscape oil and acrylic paintings are gracing the homes and offices of collectors nationally and internationally. McGuire's choice of subject matter comes from her love of nature and all that surrounds her on a daily basis. She paints in large and small formats.
