Artist's Description
This forgotten red bucket makes for a great subject. The image leaves a lot for the imagination to conjure up. Was it left behind or simply 'Abandoned" by the little child who was playing with it. How many sand castles did it create before it's usefulness was no longer needed? I come across many abandoned or lost items while walking along the shoreline. The beaches around here gather many such items. Families in their hast often lose a toy or two while gathering up all the beach supplies.
My painting is done in acrylics with two of my favorite techniques. Both these techniques are in my book "The Art Of Painting In Acrylic" published by Walter Foster. Buy a copy on Amazon or get one at Barns & Nobel or at any number of art supplies stores. If you'd like a signed copy just message me through this site.
NOTE; This painting, along with my entire inventory and art studio, was destroyed in the Lahaina fire on August 8th, 2023.

McGuire's choice of subject matter comes from her love of nature and all that surrounds her on a daily basis. She paints in large and small formats. Three of the five galleries that represented her work were destroyed by the Lahaina fire. The two remaining galleries are Karen Lei's Gallery in Kahakuloa and Karen Lei's...
